What Size Car Bubble Do I Need?
Choosing the correct Car Bubble size is straightforward, and we confirm the fit when processing your order if you provide the details of the vehicle you plan to store.
This guide helps you choose the right size based on your vehicle dimensions and the Car Bubble type. If your car is close to the limits, modified, or you are unsure at any stage, we will advise before your order is processed.
All dimensions below are in centimetres.
How to Choose the Correct Size
- Measure your car length (bumper to bumper)
- Measure width with mirrors unfolded ideally
- Measure height from the ground to the highest point
- Select your Car Bubble type and use the tables below
Tip: If you have space for a larger bubble, choosing the next size up makes access easier and gives you more clearance.
Important Clearance Rules
- Original Indoor Bubble: Aim for around 10 cm clearance on each side for easy use
- Heavy Duty Outdoor Bubble: Aim for around 20 cm clearance on each side, with a little extra allowance if your location is windy
- Framed Indoor Bubble: The internal frame slightly reduces usable width by approximately 3 cm total. Length and height are not affected.
Important note on measurements: All length and width measurements shown refer to the base mat dimensions. When the Car Bubble fans are powered on, the bubble naturally expands and bulges outward around the mid-height area. This often provides additional clearance for mirrors and wider body sections. Depending on the fan speed set via the variable controller, this expansion can add up to approximately 10 cm of extra clearance on each side.
Friendly sizing note: The maximum vehicle sizes shown in the tables are recommended guidelines. If you are only a little over on one dimension, it can still be workable depending on the shape of the vehicle and available clearance. Important: Height is the most common sizing mistake. If your car has a spoiler, roof rails, roof box, or is an SUV or estate, contact us before ordering.
